COMMERCIAL ARCHITECTURE

The site is located at Ashutosh Park, near one of the industrial areas (G.I.D.C. METODA), on the outskirts of the Rajkot city. The brief was to design 24 2 bhk flats. The site was facing approach road on east and north sides. The longer direction of the rectangular plot was facing east and the west and hence the plan was developed in such a way that all flats had either east or west orientation. 3 clusters of 2 flats each were interconnected in such a way that each flat of the central cluster was approached from different adjoining cluster. The form was developed as a reflection of the function and kept simple in white and terracotta shades. Each flat was open from at least two sides to ensure good light and ventilation, even the stair, lift and the passage areas were articulated in such a way that they facilitate interaction within different units and with open site areas.
